HOUSTON, TEXAS – Primary Arms Optics is now shipping two long-range additions to its PLx Compact line: the PLx 2.5-20×48 and PLx 4.5-36×56 FFP Compact Rifle Scopes.
At 11.5 inches, the 2.5-20×48 is the shorter of the pair, designed for general-purpose precision. Its versatile magnification range is ideal for shooters who need to move between medium- and long-distance engagements quickly, without giving up precision at either end. The 4.5-36×56 measures 14.5 inches and reaches much further, built for extreme long-range shooting where glass and turret quality are paramount.
When it comes to glass quality, the PLxC long-range scopes are the finest yet made from Primary Arms, designed to compete with other premium, professional-grade scopes. The extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses are manufactured in Japan and coated to minimize chromatic aberration, preserve color, and eliminate distortion out to the edge of the image. Even in extreme lighting and weather conditions, these scopes deliver an exceptionally clean view of the target.
These scopes also introduce Primary Arms Optics’ new cartridge turret system. The elevation and windage turrets accept interchangeable cartridges, which lets the shooter decide what style of lock or stop each turret uses. Cartridges are installed with basic tools, and changing a cartridge does not change the scope’s mechanical zero. And because these scopes feature Steel-on-Steel turrets, the adjustments remain accurate and tactile for a lifetime.
Each scope is available with two different ACSS® reticle options, each matched to a different style of long-range work. All reticles have daylight-bright illumination and AutoLive®, which conserves battery power while the rifle is in storage.
Available in both scopes, the ACSS Deka MIL® G2 keeps the sight picture open. It is a basic MIL crosshair with 0.1 MIL stadia marks, a center dot aiming point, and an integrated ranging ladder. It suits shooters who want a clean image with minimal obstruction, preferring dialed elevation to grid-based holds.
For the 2.5-20x, the ACSS Athena® BPR MIL G2 is the latest version of the most popular MIL-grid reticle Primary Arms Optics makes, pairing 0.1 MIL crosshair stadia with 0.5 MIL grid stadia. It is the versatile choice, and it gives a usable grid without heavy obstruction of the target.
For the 4.5-36x, the all-new ACSS Neptune® carries the most information of the three: a full MIL grid with 0.1 MIL subtensions across its entire area. It was made for shooters running the 4.5-36×56 near the top of its magnification range, where wind reads and ballistic holds are called in fine increments.
